People often ask me about my mods. I highly recommend learning how to safely backup all of your save files before installing any mods. Learn as much as you can about how to safely install and organize your mods, and don't install too many new mods at once! All of the websites below contain mods that I have personally downloaded and used safely in my games. Please use common sense when downloading mods of any kind!
Gameplay Mods:
- NRAAS - Overwatch - This mod is a must for me. Otherwise, after about three generations, my games become so bogged down in game time slows to a crawl and it is impossible to do anything.
- NRAAS - Story Progression - This mod is another must have. It lets the rest of the sims in your sim world get on with their lives! They will get married and have babies and get jobs and be promoted all on their own! I also recommend downloading the NRAAS - Story Progression - Population Mod (an extension of the Story Progression Mod), as this will allow you some control over the genetics of your towns population, as well as preventing the vanilla sims from taking over after a few generations.
- NRAAS - ErrorTrap - This mod, again, is a must have. It will help protect your saved games from being corrupted.
Hair Mods:
- NEWSEA - 99% of my hair comes from this website. I've never experienced problems downloading any of the hair, and the owner of the site was very nice and helped me fixed my account when I couldn't log into it. Highly recommended!
- My Blue Book - Nicely textured hairstyles, safe to download.
Skin Mods:
Freckle Mods:
Makeup Mods:
Clothing Mods:
- All About Style - Nearly all of my favorite clothing comes from this website. Everything is easy to download, and I've never had any in game problems with any of the articles of clothing. Just be sure you are downloading Sims 3 items, and not Sims 2 items, as both are available on the website (The link I posted goes directly to the Sims 3 clothing).
Mixed Mods:
- Club_Crimsyn - This site has a lot of great odds and ends. It takes some sifting through the posts to find what you want though.
- Raonjena - This site has some nice hair. I've never been big into downloading furniture, so I can't speak for the quality of those items.
Other Useful Pages:
- Carl's The Sims 3 Guide - A great site full of information about anything you could want to know about the Sims 3 (where I spend most of my time).
- Mod The Sims - This site has some really great info/hair/clothing. You really just have to sift through for what is current and what has a lot of downloads already. Use common sense!
